Rev Sloan: Guilt, guilt, guilt. I wonder if it's a sin to work on your tan while doing penance... Mike: Something bother you Rev? You've seemed a little depressed ever since you got back. Rev Sloan: Well, Mike, now that the young lights are off, I guess I am experiencing a bit of a letdown. I'm also feeling a little ashamed. I keep asking myself if I went to Tehran for the hostages or for me. Self-promotion is so rampant in our culture now, it's sometimes hard to recognize it in yourself. Mike: I think you're being a little tough on yourself, Rev. Rev Sloan: I dunno. Remember, we're living in an age when a man like Phil Donahue can declare that the greatest act of moral courage he ever witnessed was a priest refusing to pray on the evening news. Mike: Refusing to go on television is an act of moral courage? Rev Sloan: In these time, maybe it is. I mean, there I was, on the cutting edge of history, with a chance to make a real difference, and whole time this one refrain kept going through my head. Mike: To wit? Rev Sloan: "There's gotta be a book in this." Mike: Were you right? Rev Sloan: The movie rights alone could feed Cambodia for a month.
