Mark: And now, time for the WBBY movie guide! Let me see... most of this stuff is just trash... and now it's time for "Mattinee Madness"! Here's WBBY's roving flick buff, Michael J. Doonesbury, with today's comment! Mike: Thank you, Mark... "Jane Fonda has spent the last ten years raising her voice against the established order. For this we have admired her. And yet, she publicly drools for Oscars and weeps when politicians fail to bestow on her a largely honorific post. Unfair? Of course... McCarthyism? Nonsense! To compare a slight to Ms. Fonda's ego to the public hounding and private ruin of such people as Dashiell Hammett and Zero Mostel is self-important poppycock! All of this says much about the continued fatuousness of Tinseltown. The reigning powers of Hollywood, having utterly disgraced themselves 25 years ago, seek easy opportunities to prove they won't do it again. Until such time as they are prepared to let Vanessa Redgrave play whatever role she may or may not be politically suited for, WBBY urges them to keep their all-page whinings to themselves." Mark: Uh... responsible replies, especially from our movie sponsors, will be... Mike: Next week: "Hollywood and the Mafia."
