Duane: Governor, if I'm going to handle the press on this one, I'm going to need all the information you can give me. Jerry Brown: No problem. I have nothing to hide. Duane: Good. Now, when the NBC reporter asked you why you solicited $1000 from a known organized crime figure, how exactly did you justify it? Brown: I pointed out that even Jane Fonda had once been investigated by the FBI. Duane: Which is why you appointed her to your Arts Commission? Brown: Absolutely. I believe these people can be rehabilitated.
