Man: Testing! Testing... One, two, three, four... Test! Well? Voice: Not enough feedback yet! Man: May I have your attention, please? Before we get on with the human rights awards, I have an announcement to make. Earlier this year, Amnesty International charged that there were four political prisoners in United States jails. Tonight, we are honored to have one of the four with us, Mr. Alvin Shakney! Mr. Shakney, as a token of our deep embarassment, and on behalf of President Carter, I am pleased to present you with this certificate of unconditional amnesty. Congratulations! Man: Thanks a lot. This is great. Man: Mr. Shakney, I know we'd all love to hear a little about the political views for which you were incarcerated. Man: Oh, sure! Well, I'm a liberal Democrat, and I was arrested for fundraising. Man: Fundraising? Who were you fundraising from? Man: A cashier at Food Mart. Man: I see. Well, your nightmare is over, Mr. Shakney! Good luck!
