Man: Zzzz! Man: Okay, let's get this thing underway! Yes, class of '78, yours has been a special travail quite unlike that of any class before you. Attrition, as is its wont, has taken its toll. But it's been especially damaging to this class since your post - Baby Boom numbers were small to begin with. And who could have foreseen the raging inflation and spiraling tuition costs that have recently put private education out of the reach of all but a privileged few? And what are we to make of the failure of our secondary schools to provide us with qualified students? Did not many of your classmates pay dearly in time lost in remedial education? But as I gaze out onto the upturned face of the class of '78, I feel a surge of pride that our standards and traditions are still intact, that the University has not lost its way! Man: Me too, man. Man: Please rise as I call your name.
