Man: Son, I can't tell you what it's been like without your mother! At first there were recriminations. But then the door slammed, and I felt nothing but shame! The tears of self-pity followed closely thereafter. I think nighttime was the worst - over and over I turned softly in my sleep and called her name... I felt empty, hurt, and then, later on, so very, very alone. That's when I turned to you... Zonker: Dad, when exactly did Mom split? Man: Yesterday. Zonker: You certainly covered a lot of ground. Man: Son, it's been a nightmare!
