Peri: Coach Neely, did you play in a soccer league when you were a kid in Jamaica? Raymond Neely: No. There were no leagues where I lived. We were so poor we couldn't afford cleats. Raymond Neely: My friends and I would play pickup soccer matches barefoot on the beach. And we couldn't afford a ball, so we would weave them out of these big flowers that grew near the ocean. Peri: Flower soccer balls! That is so cool. Edith: I bet other aspects of being poor in Jamaica weren't so cool. Woman: My hydrangeas? Peri: Sorry, Mom. It's not turning ou the way I wanted. Man: Maybe a nice vase would help.
