Alice: here's what I've learned after years of watching tv commercials and hanging around in grocery stores. Alice: Cereal brands begin life as simple shapes in one flavor. Once it's firmly established, a sugar frosted variant appears. Suddenly a flavored mutation emerges. It's always strawberry. Alice: The packaging is now a garish pink, increasing the brand's visibility. The assortment of flavors expands uncontrollably. Once vanilla appears, chocolate is inevitable. A cereal craving mascot is spontaneously generated. Bird: I'd sell my soul for a bowl! and the cereal reaches the peak of it's evolution-the addition of marshmallows. alice: Wouldn't it be easier if, instead of starting with cereal, they started with the marshmallows? Dill: Adults are so dumb. Mom: alice! why are there boxes of cereal all over the living room?
