Irving: It's very complex, but... Cathy: I think I get it, Irving: Much of what we love and depend on is controlled by little chis that we can't see change or fix. Because most microchips are "all-purpose," they have a date calendat running even if the thig they're controlling doesn't have a date-related function. Therefore, there's no way to even look around your own home and know what will or won't go haywire or completely shut down when the clock strikes 12:00 on New Year's Eve. Irving: Amazing...
