Beyonce Born on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Beyonce Giselle Knowles was 10 years old when her first group the sextet Girls Tyme, appeared on "Star Search" although they didn't win, but her Dad, Matthew quit his highly paid sales job to manage the group full time. Trimming down the quartet of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Latavia Roberson, and Letoya Luckett. They survived one record deal that fizzled out and signed to Columbia as Destiny's Child in 1995. By the end of the decade, such hits as "Bills Bills Bills" and "Say My Name" had taken them to the top of the charts worldwide. But success came with a price, a contract dispute led to the departure of Latvia and Letoya and the introduction of Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin. Then within weeks, Farrah was out, leaving the girls to soldier on as a trio. By 2001, when Beyonce starred in the MTV movie "Carmen: A Hop Hopera" Destiny's Child had won a handful of Grammys and a host of other awards, and sold more than 33 million records. With the group on hiatus to concentrate on solo projects, Beyonce starred in "Austin Powers in Goldmember" and released such huge hits as "Crazy in Love" her debut solo album "Dangerously in Love" sold more than 4 million copies and earned 5 Grammy Awards. Her third album, "I am... Sasha Fierce" topped the charts. Her marriage to Jay-Z had produced three children and numerous musical collaborations. Since parting ways with her manager father in 2010, she has released three chart-topping solo studio albums, including "Lemonade," The best-selling album in the world of 2016. The most-nominated woman in the history of the grammys, in 2014 she became the highest-earning musician of color in history. Beyonce has sold more than 120 million records to date.
