Anya Taylor-Joy The youngest of six children, Anya Taylor-Joy was born in Miami on April 16, 1996. The family moved to Argentina shortly after her birth before relocating to London when she was 6. Anya refused to speak english for two years, hoping her parents would take her back to Bueno Aires! She began modeling at the age of 16, which led to her signing with an acting agent. TV work led to her breakthrough as Thomasin in the 2015 horror film "The Witch" her performance earned her numerous awards and a multitude of job offers roles in the likes of "Morgan" "Split" "Marrowbone" and "Glass" could have painted her into a scream queen corner and she not shown her range across productions as diverse as Barack Obama biopic "Barry" and the hit tv show Peaky Blinders" Subsequent projects included leading characters in "Playmobil: The Movie" and the Netflix series "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" before she starred in the title role in "Emma." A movie adaptation of the 1815 Jane Austen novel. She followed "The New Mutants" superhero movie with "The Queens Gambit." which most-watched scripted miniseries on Netflix and earned Anya rave reviews for her portrayal of chess prodigy Beth Harmon. Anya's upcoming projects include horror movie "Last Night in Soho" viking epic "The Northman" opposite Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, and Ethan Hawke - and the title character in the "Mad Max" spin-off "Furiosa,"
