The youngest of four brothers, Ryan Reynolds was born in Vancouver, Canada, on October 23, 1976. He launched his career in 1991 with a starring role on the Canadian teen drama "Hillside," which was known in the U.S. as "Fifteen." Ryan continued to appear in Canadian TV productions throughout his teens before heading to Hollywood in the mid-1990s with fellow Canadian actor Christ William Martin. On their first night in Los Angeles, the pair checked into a cheap motel - and Ryan's parked jeep was stripped by thieves. For his first four months in Tinseltown, Ryan drove it without doors! After landing a starring role on the sitcom "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place," his career began to take off, and his film roles ranged from the 2002 farce "Van Wilder" to the action movie "Blade: Trinity." He starred in the 2005 remade of "The Amityville Horror," and in 2006, he was teamed with Ray Liotta in "Smokin' Aces." His star was on the rise, and in 2009, he had starring roles in the critically acclaimed drama "Adventureland," the blockbuster "X-men Origins: Wolverine" and the hugely successful rom-com "The Proposal," opposite Sandra Bollock. His marriage to Scarlett Johansson ended in divorce in 2011. He has been married to Blake Lively since 2012, and the couple have three daughters. They met during the filming of the superhero movie "Green Lantern" in which he played the title role and was his leading lady, the movie was a box-office flop," Despite the success of "Safe House" opposite Denzel Washington, and the animated comedy "The Croods" his career began to drift into the doldrums with the likes of "Mississippi Grind" "Self/Less" and "R.I.P.D. sinking without a trace. That all changed in 2016, Superhero Blockbuster "Deadpool, which was followed two years later by an even moresuccessful sequel. Following movies as diverse as "Detective Pickachu" and the Netflix's "6 Underground," Reynolds can currently be heard once again voicing cave boy guy in "The Croods: A New Age." This month Ryan stars opposite "Killing Eve" actress Jodie Comer in "Free Guy." a sci-fi action comedy romp. 2021 will bring a sequel to 2017's "The Hitman's Bodyguard." and see Reynolds team up with Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot in "Red Notice."
