Born on December 7, 1989, British actor Nicholas Hoult studied ballet and trobone as a child and was drawn to acting from a very early age. He was cast in film "Intimate Relations" at the age of 5 and went on to appear in a handful of British TV productions before getting his big break in the 2002 Hugh Grant hit movie "About A Boy." Further film credits followed, and in 2006 he was cast as the lead in the teen drama "Skins." He made his debut on the London stage in Early 2009. Subsequent movie credits included "Clash of The Titans" and "A Single Man" before he played The Best in "X-Men: First Class" a role he has since reprised in numerous movies. He starred in "Warm Bodies" "Jack The Giant Slayer" "Young Ones" and "Dark Places" and played Nux in 2015's "Mad Max: Fury Road" the same year he starred in "Equals" and "Kill Your Friends." Following 2016's "Collide." He was cast as writer J.D. Salinger in "Rebel In The Rye" the first in a series of portrayals of real-life characters- he played inventor Nikola Tesla in "The Current War" english nobleman Robert Harley, The Earl of Oxford" In the period comedy "The Favorite" and author Kr. R. Tolkien creator of "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of The Rings" in the 2019 biopic "Tolkein." Away from acting, Nicholas is a noted philanthropist, particularly in support of Children's charities. His first child, a son with model Bryana Holly, was born in 2018. He had previously dated Jennifer Lawrence for five years. Recent credits include the western "Those Who Wish Me Dead" with Angelina Jolie. He can currently be seen starring as Russian Emperor Peter III in "The Great," a Hulu miniseries that has earned rave reviews.
