Born in Los Angeles on July 24, 1982, Elisabeth moss trained as a ballet dancer, studying in New York at the school of American Ballet and in Washington D.C, at the Kennedy Center. Her acting career was launched in 1990 with a role in TV's "Lucky/Chances" and she went on to land a recurring role on "Picket Fences" more tv and movie work followed, including a number of voice roles on animated projects, before she was cast as Zoey Bartlet on teh TV drama "The West Wing" a role she played for seven years until 2006, while amassing numerous other acting credits. In 2007, she landed the role of Peggy Olson on "Mad Men" her six-year run on the show earned her multiple emmy nominations. During her time on the show, she also starred on Broadway and the London stage. A short-lived marriage to comedian Fred Armisen ended in divorce in 2011. In 2013, she starred as detective Robin Griffin in the miniseries "Top Of The Lake" a role that brought her a Golden Globe. She reprised the character in 2017's "Top Of The Lake: China Girl. In 2017, Elisabeth began playing offered in the critically acclaimed series "The Handmaid's Tale." The role has earned her two primetime Emmy's and a golden globe to date. Having appeared in the hit psychological thriller "Us" earlier this year, she will be seen this summer opposite Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish in the crime drama "The Kitchen."
