DAVID CROSBY David Van Cortlandt Crosby was born in Los Angeles on August 14, 1941, The son of an academy award-winning cinematographer, David emerged from the folk music scene to fo found the band that became the Byrds in 1964. "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!" gave the Byrds chart-topping success in the mid-1960s but the band was plagued by internal conflicts. after David Crosby was sacked in 1968, he began collaborating with Stephen Stills. When Stephens and, Buffalo Springfield disintegrated in 1968, he and Crosby worked together in earnest. Thye recruited Graham Nash from Britain The Hollies and the lineup of one of rocks first supergroups was complete. The trios 1969 debut album "Crosby, Stills, and Nash: was hot after which Neil Young was brought on as a full partner, The group second concert performance was at the legendary Woodstock festival in 1960. The following year, the eagerly awaited "Deja Vu; album sored to the top of the charts. Ego clashes and bickering brought a plethora of splinter projects, each member issuing successful solo albums, Crosby still and Nash teamed up as a duo, as did Stills and Young quartet sporadically reunited but the end of the 70s , the original trio was back together without young, however, Crosby's wild lifestyle was taking a heavy toll, culminating in a jail sentence and health problems that would eventually necessitate a liver transplant. Crosby still and Nash was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 1997, all three men have also been inducted for their work with their original groups. Crosby has also worked extensively with CPR, a jazz-rock band that featured hi son keyboard player James Raymond, Crosby is currently touring and will be on the road until September.
