One of three brothers who have carved out acting careers, Chris Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Australia, on August 11, 1983. The family spent time living in the outback, where cattle stations, Buffalo and crocodiles were the norm, before moving to a small island off the Melbourne coast. Following small roles on a number of Aussie TV shows, Chris landed a starring role on popular soap opera "Home And Away" In 2004, he relocated to Sydney for the show and spent the next three years playing lifeguard Kim Hyde. However, his sights were set on movies, and six weeks after moving to Los Angeles, Chris landed a prominent role in "Ca$h." By the time the film was released in 2010, he had played George Kirk in "Star Trek" and appeared in the thriller "A Perfect Getaway." His major breakthrough came with the lead in the 2011 box-office hit "Thor." He packed on an extra 20 pounds of muscle to play the Norse good superhero, a role he reprised the following year in "Snow White And The Huntsman" and "Red Dawn." Having earned praise for his portrayal of formula one driver James Hunt in Ron Howard's "Rush" Hemsworth's subsequent credits have ranged from the action thriller "Blackhat" to the heart of the sea, "12 Strong" and "Bad Times At The El Royale." He reprised the role of The Huntsman in "The Huntsman: Winter's War" and made his eighth and final appearance as Thor in the recent epic "Avengers: Endgame." This month sees him star as Agent H, opposite Tessa Thompson and Liam Neeson, in "Men In Black: International."
