Born in Warren, Ohio, On January 14, 1969, Dave Grohl was in high school in Virginia when he first began playing in local bands, initially as a guitarist before switching to drums, he joined hardcore punk band scream at 17 and four years later he was recruited by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic yo joining Nirvana propelled by the success of the hit single "smells like teen spirit" The grunge trio topped the charts with the 1991 album "Nevermind". Since 1995, Foo Fighters have gone on to sell more than 12 million records in the US alone, topping the album charts twice – with 2011s “wasting light" and 2017s “concrete and gold” and dominating the alt-rock charts with singles such as “My Hero: Learn to fly” “best to you”, “rope” “walk” and something from nothing, Bassist Nate Mendel has been settled as Grohl, Meindl guitarist Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett and drummer Taylor Hawkins with keyboard player rami Jaffe now confirmed as a full member. Away from foo fighters, Dave Grohl is a co-founder with Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and Josh Homme of Queens for the stone age of rock supergroup them crooked vultures.
