STEVIE NICKS Born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 26, 1948, Stevie Nicks joined her first band while attending high school in California. In 1967, guitarist Lindsey Buckinghaminvited er to joining his band FRITZ, over the next three years the group gigged extensively opening for such names as Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix when Fritz disbanded the romantically involved Lindsey and Stevie continued as a duo releasing the album "Buckingham Nicks" In 1973. The following year the pair accepted an invitation to joining mick Fleetwiid and john and Christine Mcvie in British rock band Fleetwood Mac whose ranks had been depleted by a series of personnel departures thanks to hits such as "say you love me" and "Rhianon: The band topped the charts with 1975s "Fleetwiodd MAc" Album. But success was accompanied by emotional upheavals Fleetwood divorced the wife he would later remarry, The Mcvies split up and the eight year relationship of Buckingham and Nicks ended, INcrediblt the group remained intact - and released 1977s "Rumours: on the most successful record in history, topping the US charts for 31 weeks! Following the albums “Tusk” “Mirage” and "Tango in the Night” Buckinham quit – but the full reunion in 1997 took Fleetwood, Nicks and Buckingham and the Movies on a major tour and back to the top of the album charts for the first time in 15 years with “the dance" In 1998, the same year that the band was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame, Christine Mcvie retired from Fleetwood Mac, Th remaining quartet toured the world in support of its 2003 album “say you will: and again in 2009 and 2013. Christine was back in the ranks by 2014 …but in 2018 Buckingham was sensationally fired! Since 1981, Stevie Nicks has also maintained a solo career, her first album, the chart-topping “Bella Donna” contained two smash duets “stop dragging my heart around with Tom Petty and the heart breakers and “Leather and Lace” with Don Henley She gas goine on to release eoght more albums and has sold approximately 30 million records in her own right, 2019 sees the induction of this hugely influential artist into the rock and roll hall of fame.
