Bryan Ferry Born in Washington, County Durham England on September 26, 1945. Bryan Ferry - the son of a farm Laborer who looked after pit ponies - studied fine art in college while playing in a succession of local bands. He moved to London in 1968 and taught art and pottery at a local school, He formed Roxy music in 1970. The GLAM Rock art band - whose lineup also included Brian Eno, who would go on to establish a stellar reputation as a producer working with the likes of U2 and Coldplay racked up a string of hits in Britain including "Love is the drug" Dance away " and Jealous guy" From the very early days of the group, Ferry also pursued a solo career, following the release for Roxy's music very successful "Avalon" Album, He disbanded the group in 1982 to concentrate on his own projects Two years later, Ferry was one of the artists featured at Wembly stadium for the British leg of the globally televised live aid concert. Although Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music have enjoyed only minor chart success stateside, the music has been featured in many TV shows and movies – with Bill Murrays Karaoke rendition of “More than this” Providing one of the most memorable scenes in “Lost in translation: and Ferry has performed at the likes of the holly woods bowl and the Coachella festival. 2019 will see Roxy music inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
