Born on Edwards Air Force base in California on September 25, 1983, Donald McKinley Glover Jr. Attended Deklab School of The Arts before graduating from New York University tisch school of the arts in 2006 with a degree in dramatic writing. He was hired asa writer on Tina Fey's sitcom "30 Rock" making occasional cameos on the show. As a member of the Derrick Comedy troupe, he starred in the 2009 movie "Mystery Team" the same year he landed the role of Troy Barnes on the TV comedy "Community." He starred with the show for five years, appearing in 89 episodes. Subsequent with the show for five years, stand-up special, a guest role on HBO's "Girls" and the movies "The Lazarus Effect" "Magic Mike XXL," "The Martian" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming." he created, stars in and occasionally directs "Atlanta" and the show has earned him widespread awards acclaim. "Solo: A Star Wars Story" sees him star as Lando Calrissian, a role made famous by Billy Dee Williams. Next year, he will voice Simba in a remake of the Disney classic "The Lion King." Under the name Childish Gambino, Glover has also enjoyed tremendous success as a recording artist. His debut album "Camp" -released in 2011- hit the U.S. top 20. Two years later, "Because The Internet" reached No. 7 on the Billboard charts. Propelled by the hit single "Redbone" his 2016 album, "Awaken my Love" hit the U.S. top 5.
