Thadie Newton was born in London on November 6, 1972. Raised in London and Cornwall, she studied dance at the Tring Park School for the performing arts. She had never acted when she landed a role in the 1991 movie "Flirting." Between subsequent acting assignments, she earned a social anthropology degree from Cambridge University. Following a role in 1994's "Interview With The Vampire" alongside Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. She played Sally Hemings in "Jefferson In Paris." She played leading roles in a handful of smaller movies before talking the title role opposite Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover in the Horror drama "Beloved." In 2000- the year that the first of her three children with her husband, director and writer Ol Parker, was born- she played the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible 2" Thandie played Makemba "Kem" Likasu on TV's hit series "ER" during which time she also starred as Dame Vaako in "The Chronicles of Riddick" and rurned in an award-winning performance in the 2004 ensemble movie "Crash" In the late 2000s. She played Eddie Murphy's love interest in "Norbit" and the objection of Simon Pegg's affection in "Run Fatboy Run," And she earned praise for her portrayal of Condoleeza Rice in "W." She stared on the cop drama series "Rogue" and racked up credits in a number of smaller productions, including "For Colord Girls" with Janet JAckson and Whoopi Goldberg. This weekend sees the return of "Westworld" for a second season, with Thandie reprising her roles as the android Maeve Millay. Following her recent role in the crime comedy "Gringo", she will be seen later this year in "Solo: A Star Wars Story."
