Pink was born Alecia Beth Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1979. She joined her first group, Middleground, in High School. A regular on the Philadelphia Club scene by her early teens, she sang backing vocals for local hip-hop group Schools of Thought before joining R&B group Basic Instinct. She was then recruited to help from the trio choice, and a record deal with L.A Reid and Baby Face's LaFace label followed. Although the group soon disbanded, Pink had impressed Reid enough to earn a solo deal. Her debut album, 2000's "Can't Take Me Home" went double platinum. Thanks to the hits "There You Go" and "Most Girls" In 2001, Pink teamed up with Lil 'Kim, Mya and Christina Aguilera on a cover of "Lady Marmalade" a chart-topping track featured in the movie "Moulin Rouge!" Her second album, "M!sundaztood" saw pink move in a heavier, less R&B direction. Propelled by the smash hit "Get The Party Started" the album was a worldwide success, eventually selling more than 13 million copies. 2003's "Try This" album fared less well in the states, although it did produce a string of international hits. She roared back in early 2006 with the album "I'm Not Dead" which contained such hit singles as "Stupid Girls" and "Who Knew." The worldwide chart-topper "So What" was the lead single from 2008's multiplatinum "Funhouse" album, which also produced such hits as "Sober" and "Please Don't Leave Me." In 2010, her "Greatest Hits... So Far!!!" album gave her a third U.S. chart-topping single in "Raise Your Glass." her sixth album, 2012's "The Truth About Love" debuted at the top of the charts and contained a number of hits, including "Just Give Me A Reason," her fourth No. 1 in 2014, she teamed up with Dallas Green to form the folk duo You + Me and release the well-received "Rose Ave." album. HEr seventh studio album "Beautiful Trauma" debuted at the top of the U.S. charts in 2017. Pink, who sang the national anthem at this year's Super Bowl, is currently midway through a North American concert tour.
