After graduating from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2006, Abbi Jacobson- born in Wayne, Pennsylvania, on February 1, 1984- moved to New York. She took classes with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, a training center that teaches numerous aspects of comedy, including improv, sketch, writing and directing, and it was there that she formed her friendship with Ilana Glazer, who was born on April 12, 1987. In 2009, they created the web series "Broad City" a fictionalized version of their own lives, it gained a lot of critical acclaim and media attention. "SNL" star Amy Poehler helped the pair land a deal wiht the FX Network. However, the studio rejected the script, and the project was subsequently picked up by Comedy Central. The show debuted in January 14 and was an immediate hit wiht the key 18-34 demographic so prized by advertisers! The fourth season has just hit TV screens, and a fifth has been ordered. Away from "Broad City" both women have been racking up TV and movie credits. Having starred opposite Michael Cera in this summer's "Person to Person" Abbi will be seen later this year in the drama "6 Balloons" and she voices a character in "The Leggo Ninjago Movie" it was recently announced that she will voice the lead character in "Disenchantment," the new animated show from Matt Groening that will debut on Netflix in 2018. Ilana starred in a Comedy Central miniseries last year was teamed with Scarlett Johansson and Kate McKinnon in the recent dark comedy "Rough Night."
