Born in Kent, Connecticut, on October 26 1973, Seth MacFarlane studied film, video and animation at the Rhode Island school of Design. Recruited by Hanna-Barbera, he worked as a writer and artist on a number of shows, including "Johnny Bravo" and "Dexter's Laboratory" while his freelance work included writing on the "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" cartoon. Two animated shorts Seth had created at RISD inspired his idea for a prime-time show. After he spent 6 months feverishly creating a pilot episode, "Family Guy" was greenlit by Fox in 1998, the show has developed into a billion-dollar franchise and has spawned the hit series "American Dad!" and the "Family Guy" spin-off "The Cleveland Show" Seth made his directorial live-action film debut with 2012's "Ted." He also wrote the screenplay, took on a producer role and voiced the title character "Ted" was a big success, as was the 2015 sequel. In 2014, he starred opposite Charlize Theron in the western comedy "A Million Ways To Die In The West." A pianist and singer, Seth has performed at such venues as Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He has multiple Grammy nominations and received an Oscar nomination for "Everybody Needs A Best Friend" The song he co-wrote for "Ted." In 2013, he hosted the Academy Awards. He has racked up numerous production credits and is a frquent voice and vocals contributor to many shows and movies. Following his role in last month's film, "Logan Lucky" he has created and stars in "The Oriville," a new sci-fi comedy TV show described as "Family Guy meets "Galaxy Quest."
