Jason Momoa Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 1, 1979 and raised in Norwalk, Iowa. He returned to Hawaii in 1998 to attend college, but soon found himself modeling for the likes of Louis Vuitton. He won Hawaii's Model of the Year crown in 1999, the same year he landed the role of lifeguard Jason Ioane on Baywatch Hawaii. Roles in the TV movie "Tempted" and the Cedric the Entertainer comedy "Johnson Family Vacation" were followed by a regular stint on the Hawaii-based TV series "North Shore" playing bartender Frankie Seau. His next major role was the dreadlocked alien Ronon Dex on TVs "Stargate: Atlantis." In late 2008, Jason was attacked in a Hollywood bar and received severe facial injuries that required 140 stitches and reconstructive surgery. 2011 was a stllar year. Having impressed as warrior Khal Drogo on the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" he took the lead in "Conan The Barbarian" the same character that launched Arnold Schwarzenegger to superstardom in the early 1980s. Subsequent film roles included "Bullet to The Head" with Sylvester Stallone and "Road to Paloma" a film that Jason also co-wrote, produced adn directed. Recent releases include "Once Upon a Time in Venice" with Bruce Willis. TV work includes "The Red Road" and his latest show, the Netflix series "Frontier" having debuted as Aquaman in last year's "Batman and Superman: Dawn of Justice" Jason will reprise, the role in this year's before starring in Aquaman in 2018.
