Jack Nicholson Happy 80th Birthday to triple Oscar-winner Jack Nicholson! He was born on April 22, 1937, and raised in Neptune City, New Jersey. A former office boy for the MGM animation department, he made his movie debut with the lead in 1958's low-budget "The Cry Baby Killer" subsequent movies included "The Little Shop of Horrors" and "The Raven" and he appeared on such TV shows as "Sea Hunt" "Bronco" and "The Andy Griffith Show" unable to land a breakthrough role, he prepared himself for a career in directing and writing- he co-wrote the script for the Monkees movie "Head" until his role in the 1969 hit "Easy Rider" catapulted him to stardom, earning him a best supporting actor nomination in the process. 1970's "Five Easy Pieces" earned Jack his second oscar nomination and "The Last Detail" his third. He was Oscar-nominated for 1974s "Chinatown" before finally winning his first Academy Award for his memorial performance in 1975's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" The '80s saw Jack star in "The Shining," win his second Oscar with "terms of endearment" and garner nominations for "Reds" "Prizzi's Honor" and "Ironweed" his portrayal of The Joker in 1989s "Batman" reportedly earned him as much as $90 million in a profit sharing deal. His 1990s movies ranged from "The Two Jakes" to "Wolf" and he received his 10th Oscar Nomination with 1992's "A Few Good Men" five years later, "As Good As it Gets" brought his third Oscar Win. He is the most Oscar-Nominated actor in History- 2003's "About Schmidt" earned him his 12th Academy Award Nomination-and Jack and Michael Caine are the only two men to have been nominated for acting Oscars in every decade from the 1960s to the 2000s.
