2017: Milestones in TV & Movies This week, we look at some of the major milestones in the world of TV and movies that will be reached in 2017. 110 Years: 2017 sees the 110th anniversary of the birth of Marion Morrison, who went on to find fame as John Waye, others born in 1907 include Katharine Hepburn and Sir Laurence Olivier. 100 Years: Among those born a century ago are Dean Martin, Ernest Borgnine and Robert Mitchum, as well as music greats LEna Horne and Ella Fitzgerald. 90 Years: Sir Roger Moore, who played James Bond in seven movies, was born in 1927- as were Harry Belafonte, Gina Lollobrigida, Peter "Columbo" Falk and "Psycho" star Jet Leigh. 80 Years: Among those who will celebrate their 80th Birthdays in 2017, are movie legends Sir Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman, Jane Fonda, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman. Movies released in 1937 include "Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" "A Star Is Born" and "Lost Horizon." 70 Years: "Terminator" star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will turn 70 years old in 2017. 60 Years: The only man to win three Academy Awards for best actor, Daniel Day-Lewis turns 60 in 2017. TV shows that debuted in 1957 include "Wagon Train," "Maverick" and "Perry Mason." 50 Years: Actress turning 50 in 2017 include Oscar winners Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman and "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson. 78 million people turned in to watch the final episode of "The Fugitive" on August 29, 1967- a record that stood until 1980 and the "Who Shot J.R.?" episode of "Dallas." 40 Years: "Star Wars" one of the most financially successful movies of all time, was released in 1977, launching the greatest franchise in Cinema history. Among those turning 40 in 2017 are Tom Hardy Michael Fassbender and Orlando Bloom. 30 Years: "The Simpsons" debuted in 1987 as a short on "The Tracey Ullman Show." 20 Years: "Titanic" dominated the box office in 1997. The movie grossed more than $2 billion and won II Oscars from 14 nominations! 10 Years: "The Big BandTheory" debuted on September 24, 2007
