Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on August 26 1976, Mike Colter was president of his high school drama club. He spent a year at benedict college before transferring to the University of South Carolina, were he earned a B.A degree in theater, he obtained his M.F.A. at Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts before heading to Hollywood, where he landed roles on E.R. and "The Parkers" The role of boxers Big Willie Little in Clint Eastwood's 2004 movie, "Million Dollar Baby" was a major breakthrough, and mike went on to rack up a number of movie and TV credits, most notablya recurring role as gangster Lemond Bishop on the hit TV series "The Good Wife." He also had recurring roles on TV's "Ringer" and "The Following" appeared in the 2012 movie "Men in Black 3" and starred as Agent Jameson Locke in the "Halo" franchise. November 2015 saw the release of two TV shows on which Mike had leading roles, "Agent X" starring Sharon Stone, was canceled after just 10 episodes... but the Netflix series "Jessica Jones" based on the marvel comics character, was a huge hit and has been renewed for a second season. Mike not only earned a legion of new fans with his portrayal of Luke Cage, a reluctant superhero with unbreakable skin and super starring vehicle- The "Luke Cage" series has just debuted on Netflix!
