Inside the famed rock star hangout, the Rainbow Bar and Grill on the sunset strip in West Hollywood is a plaque bearing the legend "Lair of The Hollywood Vampires" it's a reference to a notorious group of famous friends, led by rocker Alice Cooper, who frequented the bar in the 1970s- a group that included John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and Keith Moon, and Harry Nilsson. In 2015, Alice Cooper got together with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and movie star Johnny Depp to form a rock supergroup to honor the memory of his old comrades. The "Hollywood Vampires" album featured guest appearances by such musicians as Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, and Slash, and featured spoken-word piece recorded by actor Christopher Lee. The Hollywood Vampires debuted with shows in Los Angeles, played Brazil's Rock in Rio festival and appeared live at The Grammy's Following recent dates in Europe, the band is scheduled to play a string of U.S. concerts this July.
