Born in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on December 22, 1993, Meghan Trainor performed in a band with her parents, younger brother, aunt and uncle from the age of 12, and was a member of a jazz band in her high school years. She enroleld at the Berklee College of Music when she was 15 and was encouraged by her parents to enter numerous songwriting contests. At the age of 17, Meghan landed a publishing deal and went on to relocate to Nashville, Tennissee, where she wrote for the likes of Rascal Flatts and Hunter Hayes. She was living in the country music capital and penning songs for country artists but felt that she belonged in the world of pop. Teaming up with Veteran songwriter and producer Kevin Kadish, she co-wrote the song "All About That Bass" when artists such as Adele and Beyonce passed on it, she recorded it herself... and it became one of 2014's biggest worldwide hits, earning her widespread awards recognition. The follow-up single, "Lips Are Movin," saw her begin 2015 riding high on the Billboard Charts.
