Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on March 28, 1970, and raised in Illinois, Vincent Anthony Vaughn abandoned an early interest in water polo to pursue an acting career. After appearing in a TV commercial, he moved to Hollywood, where despite landing roles on "21 Jump Street," "Doogie Howser, M.D." and "China Beach," he struggled to get a break. His luck changed when he co-starred with his friend. Actor/writer Jon Favreau, in the 1996, indie movie hit "Swingers." His performance impressed Steven Spielberg enough to cast him in 1997s "The Lost World: Jurassic Park." A succession of diverse roles continued to raise his profile. He played Norman Bates in a remake of "Psycho" and starred opposite Jennifer Lopez in "The Cell" before showing a flair for comedy in 2003s "Old School" following a cameo in "Zoolander" He has worked alongside Ben Stiller in "Starsky & Hutch" and "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story." He also had high-profile roles in "Be Cool" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." His movie star status was confirmed by the huge box-office success of 2005's "Wedding Crashers" in which he starred with Owen Wilson, and the media frenzy that surrounded his brief romance with Jennifer Aniston, his co-star in the 2006 comedy "The Break-Up." He married Canadian realtor Kyla Weber in 2010. The couple have two children together. He has continued in the comedy vein, starring in "Four Christmases" with Reese Witherspoon, "Couples Retreat" "The Dilemma," and teaming up with Ben Stiller in "The Watch" and with Owen Wilson in "The Internship." Next month sees the release of "Unfinished Business." In a complete change of pace, later this year he will star opposite Colin Farrell in season two of the dark HBO series "True Detective."
