Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by British bluesmen Mick Fleetwood on drums and guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer. The band was named as a way to entice Bassist John McVie to join, which he did shortly after the group's debut, following the addition of guitarist. Danny Kirwan, hits such as "Albatross," and "Green Manalishi" made Fleetwood Mac one of Europe's Top bands. The band's success was married by the deteriorating health of Peter Green, who quit the band in 1970s. Shortly after marrying McVie, Christine Perfect, singer and keyboard player with Chicken Shack, was recruitd. After Spencer abandoned Fleetwood Mac to join a religious sect, the band underwent a series of personnel changes and legal wrangles before relocating to California. Reduced to a trio, consisting of Fleetwood and the McVies, the band recruited guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and his girlfriend, singer Stevie Knicks. Thanks to hits such as "Say You Love Me" and "Rhiannon," The band topped the charts with 1975s "Fleetwood Mac" album. But success was accompanied by major emotional upheavals. Fleetwood dicorced the wife he would later remarry, the eight-year relationship of Buckingham and Nicks ended. Incredibly, the group remained intact- and released 1977s "Rumours" one of the most successful records in history, topping the U.S. charts for 31 weeks! Following the albums "Tusk" "Mirage" and "Tango in the Night" Buckingham quit. Various permutations, including the likes of Rick Vito and Billy Burnette, continued to record and tour. A full reunion in 1997 took Fleetwood, Nicks, Buckingham, McVies on a major tour and back to the top of the album charts for the first time in 15 years with "The Dance" In 1998, the same year that the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame, Christine McVie retired from Fleetwood Mac. The remaining quartet toured the world in support of its 2003 album, "Say You Will" and embarked on huge tours in 2009 and 2013. Now, after her 16-year hiatus, Christine is back in the ranks for the current "On With The Show" North American Tour!
