Biographic Steve McGarry Robin Thicke The son of TV actor Alan Thicke - who starred on the hit sitcom "Growing Pains" - Robin Thicke was born in Los Angeles on March 10, 1977. Robin's first successes in the music biz came in the late 1990s with songwriting credits on tracks by such artists as Brandy, 3T, Jordan Knight and Christina Aguilera. Billed as Thicke, he released his debut single, "When I Get You Alone," in 2002. The track did well internationally, and was followed by the 2003 album "A Beautiful World." By 2005, shorn of his long, flowing locks and billed under his full name, Robin was signed to Star Trak, a label founded by The Neptunes, the superstar record production duo of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo. "Lost without u," the second single from his 2006 album, "the evolution of Robin Thicke," took him inot the top 20 of the billboard charts and helped push the album's sales past the 1.5 million mark. Robin's star continue to rise, propelled by subsequent albums "Something Else," "Sex Therapy" and "Love After War." 2012 saw Robin film his movie debut, co-starring with Jaime Pressly in the upcoming "Abby in the Summer," and he appeared as a judge a on the TV show "Duets." Released in advance of the album of the same name, the single "Blurred Lines" - featuring Pharrell and T.I. - was released this past spring and gave him a chart-topper in the U.S. and a dozen other countries worldwide.
