Biographic Steve McGarry Ryan Reynolds The youngest of four brothers, Ryan Reynolds was born in Vancouver, Canada, on October 23, 1976. He launched his career in 1990 with a starring role on the Canadian teen drama "Hillside," which was known in the U.S. as "Fifteen." Ryan continued to appear in Canadian TV productions throughout his teens before heading to Hollywood in the mid-1990s with fellow Canadian actor Christ William Martin. ON their first night in Los Angeles, the pair checked into a cheap motel - and Ryan's parked jeep was stripped by thieves. For his first four months in Tinseltown, Ryan drove it without doors! After landing a starring role on the sitcom "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place," his career began to take off, and his film roles ranged from the 2002 farce "Van Wilder" to the action movie "Blade: Trinity." He starred in the 2005 remade of "The Amityville Horror," and in 2006, he was teamed with Ray Liotta in "Smokin' Aces." His star was on the rise, and in 2009, he had starring roles in the critically acclaimed drama "Adventureland," the blockbuster "X-men Origins: Wolverine" and the hugely successful rom-com "The Proposal," opposite Sandra Bollock. Having ended his engagement to singer Alainis Morissette in 2007, he married actress Scarlett Johansson in 2008. The union lasted about three years. Ryan starred in the 2011 superhero movie "green Lantern" and began dating co-star Blake Lively. The two married in 2012. Following his 2012 team-up with Denzel Washington in "Safe House," 2013 sees Ryan follow his voice role in "the Croods" with the animated "Turbo" and spooky thriller "R.I.P.D."
