BIOGRAPHIC Steve McGarry Fall Out Boy Born in Wilmette, Illinois, on june 5, 1979, Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III was a soccer star as a teen before dropping out of college to focus on music. By the late 1990s, Pete was a well-known figure on the Chicago hardcore punk scene, playing in a number of bands. In 2001, he teamed up with Patrick Stump and longtime collaborator Joe Trohman to form a new group. Drummer Andy Hurley was the last to join, by which time they had adopted the name Fall Out Boy, inspired by the comic book sidekick featured on "The Simpsons." Early indie label releases helped build up a strong ranbase, and led to a deal with Island Records. Their major-label debut album, "From Under the Cork Tree," was released in 2005, hitting the billboard top 10, and making the band an MTV staple. It also helped them earn a best new artist Grammy nomination. Pete founded his Decaydance record label in 2005. The label has successfully launched the likes of Panic! at the Disco, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes and Four Year Strong to global success. Fall Out Boy's "Infinity on High" album debuted a the top of the U.S. charts in early 2007. They released the "Folie A Deux" album in 2008 - the same year that Pete married singer Ashlee Simpson and the couple welcomed the birth of a child. The marriage later ended in 2011. With the ban on hiatus since 2009, Pete formed electropop band Black Cards, became heavily involved in philanthropic activities and ventured into writing, acting, fashion, and film production. Patrick released a solo album - "Soul Punk" - and Joe and Andy embarked on numerous musical projects. Fall Out Boy roared back into action in early 2013 as their album "Save Rock and Roll" debuted at the top of the U.S. Charts!
