BIOGRAPHIC Steve McGarry Peter Dinklage Born in Morristown, New Jersey, on June 11, 1969, Peter Dinklage studied drama at Bennington College in Vermont before attending the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and the Welsh School of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. He worked extensively on the New York stage and made his feature film debut in 1995's "Living in Oblivion." He gained widespread attention and acclaim with his starring role in the award-winning 2003 movie "The Station Agent." He racked up an impressive list of TV and movie credits, including and appearance opposite Will Ferrell in the hit comedy "Elf" and a recurring role on the TV series "Threshold." Other movie roles ranged from a defense attorney opposite Vin Diesl in "Find Me Guilty" to the dwarf Trumpkin in "the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian." He turned in a memorable performance in the 2007 British-made dark comedy "Death at a Funeral, " in a role that he reprised in the 2010 American remake, which starred Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence and Danny Glover. His Major breakthrough came when he was case as the roguish Tyrion Lannister on the HBO epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones." The role has earned him a number of awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe. 2011 saw Dinklage and his wife, theater director Erica Schmidt, welcome their first child, a daughter. Having voiced Captain Gutt in "Ice Age: Continental Drift, " Dinklage will star as a villain in the upcoming "X-men: Days of Future Past."
