Sacha Baron Cohen Sacha Baron Cohen was born on October 13, 1971, educated at a private school, Sacha studied history at Christ's College, Cambridge, where he also developed an interest of "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Cyrano De Bergerac." He rocketed to fame in Britain in 1998 when his Ali G character, a dimwitted tv presenter with delusions of hip-hop gangsterdom became the sensation of "The II O'Clock Show" the same series that launched Ricky Gervais on the path to stardom "Da Ali G Show" debuted in 2000, and the following year, Ali G was featured in the video for Madonna's hit "music" the movie "Ali G Indahouse" was released in 2002. In 2003, Cohen's coterie of characters -Ali G, Borat and fashion journalist Bruno - arrived stateside when "Da Ali G Show" debuted on HBO. Following roles in the animated comedy "Madagascar" and "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" he returned to the big screen as the star of "Borat: Cultural learnings of America for make benefit glorious nation of Kazakhstan. Released in 2006, the movie was a large hit, earning Sacha a golden globe for his acting and an academy award nomination for best adapted screenplay. He subsequently retired the Ali G and Borat personas, and followed suit with his remaining staple character after the release of his third rockumentary movie, "Bruno" in 2009. Married to actress Isla Fisher with whom he has two children, Sacha has followed roles in the likes of the "Madagascar" sequels and "Hugo" by unveiling his latest incarnation: Admiral General Shabazz, Aladdin in his new movie "The Dictator." Sacha has announced his involvement in a number of upcoming projects, notably the lead role in a biopic of flamboyant Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.
