Born on March 2, 1968, in Chester, in the Northwest of England, Daniel Craig moved to London in his teens to attend the National Youth Theatre, and was later trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama alongside the likes of Ewan McGregor and Joseph Fiennes. He was still at drama school. When he made his movie debut in 1992's "The Power of One opposite Morgan Freeman. Stage and TV roles followed, his credits ranging from "Covington Cross" a tv series centered to a National Theatre production of "Angels In America" on the London stage. His big U.K. breakthrough came in 1996 with the popular tv drama series "Our Friends In The North." "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" in which she starred with Angelina Jolie- was followed by the likes of "Road To Perdition" "Layer Cake" and "Munich." Daniel was poised for movie stardom- and he was catapulted into the stratosphere when he was cast as the new James Bond in 2006's "Casino Royale." the movie was a huge hit, as was the next in the series, "Quantum of Solace" in 2008. A third outing as Agent 007 is scheduled for 2012. Away from the Bond movies, his credits have spanned the spectrum, from the fantasy of "The Golden Compass" to the gritty drama "Flashbacks Of A Fool" 2011 sees "Cowboys and Aliens" with the equally big-budget "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of The Unicorn" before starring as journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the fervently anticipated adaptation of the novel "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."
