Born in London on May 5, 1988, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins attended the brit school, the performing arts academy whose former students include Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, and Leona Lewis. Her second single, "Chasing Pavements" was a big British hit in early 2008, paving the way for her first album, "19" to debut at the top of the U.K. charts.
