Jessica Alba Born in Pomona, California, on April 28, 1981, Jessica Marie Alba was raised in Mississippi and Texas before her family settled back in Southern California when she was 9. She had always dreamed of becoming an actress and took her first acting lessons at the age of 12. Within a year she was signed by a Hollywood agent. She made her movie debut in 1994's "Camp Nowhere" and appeared in a couple of TV commercials before she landed a recurring role on Nickelodeon's "The Secret World of Alex Mack. After graduating high school at 16, she studied with William H. Macy at David Mamet's Atlantic Theater Company. Roles on shows such as "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "The Love Boat: The Next Wave" were followed by the movies "P.U.N.K.S." and "Idle Hands" as well as a role opposite Drew Barrymore in "Never Been Kissed" Jessica's big break came when she was cast as the lead in James Cameron's TV series "Dark Angel." Her stunning looks earned her legions of admirers the world over. Following the movie "The Sleeping Dictionary," she invested months in dance and tae-bo training in preparation for her starring role in 2003's Hip-hop movie "Honey." In 2005, "Sin City" "Fantastic Four" and "Into The Blue" gave her a stellar year. Although marriage and motherhood have now come along, she has continued to her impressive list of credits, with roles in movies as diverse as the comedies "The Love Guru" and "Little Fockers" and the action pic "Machete."
