Kesha Rose Sebert was born in Los Angeles on March 1, 1987. After her songwriter mother Pebe Sebert, landed a song publishing deal, the family moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1991. Kesha and her two brothers spent much of their childhood backstage at concerts and in and around recording studios, and it was from her mother that Kesha learned how to write songs. In 2004, the Sebert's were featured in an episode of the TV show, "The Simple Life" when the family played host to Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, Kesha was ambitious and eager to make her way in music, and within six months of the TV show airing, she was living in Los Angeles and adding background vocals to Paris Hilton's single "Nothing In This World." Under the patronage of hitmaker Dr. Luke, she started to make further inroads, her songs began to appear on TV show soundtracks, she was featured in the video for Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" hit and she added background vocals to the Britney Spears hit "Lace And Leather" After she collaborated with Flo Rida on the chart-topper "Right Round" the major record labels took notice. Ke$ha's debut single, "Tik Tok" was a worldwide No. 1, and her "Animal" album- driven bu such top 10 hits as "Blah Blah Blah" debuted at the top of the U.S. charts. She was featured on hits by Taio Cruz and 3Oh!3 and co-wrote tracks for artists as diverse as Pitbull and Miley Cyrus, her rapid rise to Stardom was confirmed when her fifth single, "We R Who We R" debuted at the top of the Billboard charts.
