Selena Gomez Born in Grand Prarie Texas, on July 22, 1992 Selena Gomez began her acting career at the age of 7, playing Gianna on TV's Barney & Friends. Following minor roles in the likes of 3-D Game Over and the TV movie "Walker Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire" she was discovered in a Disney Channel nationwide casting search. An appearance on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" led to a recurring role on "Hannah Montana" her big break came in 2007 when she was cast as one of the main stars on the teen sitcom "Wizards of Waverly Place." Selena appeared in the straight-to-DVD movie "Another Cinderella Story" before starring opposite best friend Demi Lovato, in the TV movie "Princess Protection Program." She made the transition to the big screen with her starring role in "Ramona and Beezus" and will follow up in the upcoming romantic comedy "Monte Carlo." Which is scheduled for release in 2011, not content with movie stardom, she she is also conquering the pop charts! Having contributed songs to the "Another Cinderella Story" and "Wizards of Waverly Place" soundtracks- and dueting with Demi Lovato in "Process Protection Program" she formed the band Selena Gomez & The Scene, which has given her chart success on both sides of the Atlantic.
