Born in Grand Rapids Michigan, on February 11, 1992, Taylor Daniel Lautner began studying karate at the age of 6. He trained at extreme martial arts, earning his black belt and going on to win a number of junior world titles. After his instructor suggested an acting career Taylor made his screen debut in 2001 tv movie "Shadow Fury." initially, the family would take red-eye flights to Los Angeles for auditions. But gradually began spending more time there. When TV roles and voice-over work followed, the family relocated to Los Angeles. Taylor then got his big break when he starred in the 2005 movie "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D." He appeared in "Cheaper By the Dozen 2" and voiced roles in the likes of "What's New Scooby-Doo? And "He's A Bully, Charlie Brown." before landing the role of Christian Slater's son in the short-lived tv series "My Own Worst Enemy. Stardom and Teen heartthrob status came in 2009 with his portrayal of Jacob Black in the first of the hugely successful "Twilight" series of movies. He was actually endanger of being replaced for the sequels until an extensive training regime saw him put on 30 pounds of muscle to fulfill the role's increasing physical demands. Having gone on to star with Taylor Swift in "Valentine's Day" he is now slated to play the lead in a 2012 movie inspired by the stretch armstrong toy!
