The daughter of a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Demi Lovato was born Demetria Devonne Lovato in Dallas, Texas, on August 20, 1992. Demi began her tv career at the age of 6 when she landed a role on TV's "Barney & Friends." she spent two seasons on the show, starring alongside best friend and future Disney Star Selena Gomez. A 2006 appearance on "Prison Break" was followed by a regular role on the Disney Channel's "As The Bell Rings" series, which also featured some of her original songs. In 2008, Demi starred with The Jonas Brothers in "Camp Rock" which commanded the year's largest cable viewing figures. After touring with The Jonas Brothers that summer, she released her debut album, "Don't Forget" which reached Number 2 on the Billboard charts. Demi became Disney's latest leading lady when her series, "Sonny With A Chance," debuted in early 2009. That summer, she teamed up with fellow "Barney" alumnus Selena Gomez, star of "Wizards of Waverly Place" in the Disney Channel original movie "Princess Protection Program" before releasing her sophomore album "Here We Go Again," which debuted at the top of the Billboard Charts!
