The daughter of film producer Alison Owen and actor Keith Allen-whose recent credits include a three-year stint as the Sheriff of Nottingham on the BBC's "Robin Hood" Lily Allen was born in London on May 2, 1985. Her dad has also long been involved in the music business in Britain, as a member of the chart-topping group Pat Les and a collaborator with the likes of New Order. Although she made a brief appearance in 1998's "Elizabeth" a movie produced by her mother Lily was drawn to music rather than acting. Following a spell living on the Spanish island of Ibiza, she moved back to the U.K and landed her first record deal in 2002, but was dropped before her folk-tinged songs saw the light of day. She soon abandoned folk for a more contemporary sound and signed her next record deal. In 2005, she began posting her demos on her myspace page and became an internet sensation. Her 2006, debut single, "smile" soared to the top of the U.K. charts and was followed by a string of hits. Outspoken and outlandish, she became a tabloid staple and even landed her own TV chat show. Her second album, "It's Not Me, It's You," has topped the charts in Britain, Canada, and Australia and hit hte number two slot stateside.
