Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris, France, on April 15, 1989, the daughter of British Lawyers. She lived in Paris until she was 5 years old. In Britian, she trained at Stagecoach, a part-time theatre school, appearing in a number of Stagecoach productions and school plays. But no amount of training could have prepared her for the whirlwind rise to stardom after she beat out thousands of other young hopefuls to play Hermione Granger in "Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone" released in the U.S. as "Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone" which dominated the box office in late 2001. The Harry Potter movies have earned billions of dollars worldwide, and now rival James Bond as the most successful franchise in film history, the eighth and final, installment of the series will be released in 2011. Millions of cinema-goers have seen Emma Blossom from childhood to adulthood. Her performances have earned consistent critical acclaim, garnered a number of awards, and made her a very wealthy young woman. So far, her work away from the Potter films have been restricted to a 2007 BBC tv adaptation of "The Ballet Shoes" and a voice role in the 2008 animated feature "The Tale of Despereaux." University now beckons, but it seems safe to assume that glittering acting career awaits.
