Born in Miami, Florida, on March 5, 1974, and raised in Los Angeles, Eva Mendes was discovered when an agent spotted her pictures in a photographer's portfolio. Appearances in music videos for Will Smith ("Miami") and Aerosmith ("Hole In My Soul" led to tv roles on the likes of "ER" and "VIP." she made her movie debut in 1998's "Children Of The Corn V: Fields of Terror" and moved on to roles in "A Night At The Roxbury" and "Urban Legends: Final Cut" before her scenes opposite Denzel Washington in 2001's "Training Day" brought her to prominence. Roles in "All About The Benjamins," "2 Fast 2 Furious" "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" and "Stuck On You" followed. She was reunited with Denzel Washington in the 2003 thriller "Out Of Time" and with Will Smith in the 2005 romantic comedy "Hitch" the latter earning her alma and teen choice award nominations. Meanwhile, her stunning looks led to her being featured in campaigns for Revlon cosmetics. 2007 saw her star opposite Nicolas Cage in "Ghost Rider" alongside Samuel L. Jackson in "Cleaner" and with Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Walberg in "We Own The Night." In 2008, a starring role in "The Women" precedes Eva's portrayal of Sand Saref in "The Spirit"
