Jodie Foster. Born in Los Angeles, on November 19 1962, Jodie Foster had starred in scores of commercials and TV shows by the time she was 10 years old, as well as providing the voice of Pugsley in an Animated version of "The Addams Family" during filming of Disney's 1972s "Napoleon and Samantha" The lion used in the move, scooped Jodie up in its jaws, leaving her with a couple of prominent scars on her abdomen. She starred in the TV version of the hit movie "Paper Moon" before tackling movies as diverse as the musical "Bugsy Malone" and "Taxi Driver" the gritty drama that earned her an academy award nomination at the tender age of 14. A gifted scholar- she became fluent in French and Italian during her teens- she put her career, on hold to study at the college lycee Francais and Yale, but was thrust back into the spotlight when a deranged fan attempted to assassinate President Reagan in a bid to attract her attention. Returning to the screen, she won the best actress Oscar for her performance in 1988s "The Accused" Three years later, the hugely successful thriller "The Silence of the Lambs" earned Jodie a second Academy Award. After making her directorial debut with 1991s "Little Man Tate." She went on to star the likes of "Summersby" and "Maverick" in recent years, she has restricted her acting work, but has enjoyed box office success with such hits as "Panic Room" and "Flightplan" four decades after she took her first baby steps in showbiz. Jodie's latest movie, "Nim's Island" teams her with Abigail Breslin. The latest child star in Hollywood's firmament.
