Miley Cyrus. Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992, that same year that her dad, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, too the charts by storm with his single "Achy Breaky Heart." Her early years were spent on the family's farm just outside Nashville, Tennessee, where her sunny disposition earned her the nickname "Smiley" which eventually became "Miley." A cameo at the age of 9 on her Dad's TV show, the medical drama "Doc" was followed by a role in the 2003 Tim Burton movie "Big Fish" In 2006, she was cast as Hannah Montana, the secret pop star alter ego of an ordinary high school girl. The character debuted on the show "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and was quickly turned into a spin-off series. The show has become an absolute phenomenon. A soundtrack album was released in late October 2006 and debuted at the top of the Billboard Charts, a feat repeated by the follow-up "Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus" in the summer of 2007. It was recently reported that more than two-thirds of kids between the ages of 6 and 14 are watching "Hannah Montana" the size of Mileymania was evidenced when the tickets for her 54-date concert tour were snapped up within minutes of going on sale.
