At the outset, it promised to be nothing more than a shallow show from the people that gave the world "The Love Boat" but when "Beverly Hills 90210" debuted on screens in 1990, it quickly became essential viewing for millions of teens around the world. For most of the early 1990s, the show's two resident hunks-hottest heartthrobs in the business... Coy Luther Perry III was born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield Ohio. From an early age, he was determined to be an actor, in what was probably his first role, Luke was selected to be "Freddie Bird" his high school football team's Mascot. Demonstrating an aptitude for self-promotion, he had his stepfather's construction firm airlift him by helicopter onto the football field! Following Graduation, Luke moved to Los Angeles to study acting. To pay for classes, he took a variety of jobs, from doorknob factory worker to asphalt layer. He appeared in TV commercials and did some stage work, and finally, after 217 auditions, landed a regular role on the daytime soap "Loving" relocating to New York, a stint on the soap "Another World" was followed by roles in the movies "Terminal Bliss" and "Scorchers" then in 1990, he moved back to Los Angeles to take a lead role in a new TV series. "Beverly Hills 90210" became a worldwide phenomenon, catapulting the young cast onto the front covers of every teen mag on the planet. Luke spent 10 years playing Dylan on the show, taking time out to appear in such movies as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "The Fifth Element" as well as doing voice work on a number of animated TV shows. He went on to appear on stage on Broadway and in London, and star on the TV shows "Oz" and "Jeremiah" in the Summer of 2007, he returned to the TV with a starring role in the HBO sci-fi surfer series "John From Cincinnati."
